14 year old Girl and Weed

by Delia

Everyone around me smokes weed and always has --my parents, my aunts, uncles even cousins and their partners!!

I always said I would NEVER smoke weed. It turns out that most of my high school friends do, too... So I did it once. then again an again. And I'm going do it again., any advice?? Should I stop? I smoke cigarettes, too and I'm 14 now.

You’ve answered your question by saying that you’re going to smoke weed, however you asked if you should. Stop. The answer of course is that you should. Right now you are probably not addicted. When you’re addicted, you’ll be hooked on, numbing your mind and harming your body. Smoking cigarettes is also addictive, leading to respiratory problems and potentially cancer.

Because everyone around you smokes, you would have to take a strong stand against them and refuse. You said you never wanted to smoke and it sounds like you’re conflicted. You don’t have to bend to peer pressure.

It’s better to stop smoking at 14, than to get hooked and regret your decision much later in life.
