Disclosing A Heroin Addiction

I have found a girl I really like and I think she likes me but I am worried that when I tell her I am a recovering heroin addict and that I am on a methadone maintenance program that she will change her mind about me and won't want me. So I need some advice on how to tell her without losing her.
Go slowly. Before you give any sensitive information to anyone, you have to let the friendship develop. As the two as you become closer, you should reveal more information to each other, however, you have no control about how she'll respond.
One thing for certain -- if she chooses not to continue the relationship, this person is not for you.
