Marijuana symptoms can effect treatment, because not only is there denial, but there is also lack of motivation to get help.

Many teenagers and adults use pot, weed, ganja, cannabis and whatever you want to call it - they display addiction symptoms, but deny treatment believing that the drug is 'no big deal'.

Denial is the biggest obstacle to treatment

Treatment

Until now weed was treated lightly by rehabs and detox facilities, but not any more. You can now find many rehabs that specialize in this addiction. The web is a great resource to find one in your area.

If support groups work for you, marijuana anonymous can be helpful

Detox teas have become fashionable, but I don’t have any conclusive evidence that they work.

Individual and group counseling using cognitive behavioral therapy is particularly effective – I’ve found this treatment especially effective with teenagers who have deep denial and have twisted thinking and changing your life.

Many addicts say they can quit whenever they want, and they can - for a day, a week or two – and then they go back to their addiction. You need help to changeaddictive behavior permanently. You need to learn how to deal with cravings as well as learn new thinking strategies to live a more productive life.

Studies have found that 1 joint is equivalent to smoking 20 cigarettes. We’re aware of how unhealthy cigarette smoking is.

For this reason alone, finding treatment for addiction to weed is the best motivation to do something to get help to quit.
